RE-ENVISIONING OUR SCHOOL FACILITIES
At the October 11 School Committee meeting, the Committee tabled the vote on a model for re-envisioning our school facilities and the status of intradistrict choice until the November 8 School Committee meeting.
Information about this process continues to be available in various locations: on the district website, the GCTV site has recordings for full School Committee and subcommittee meetings; and through past and future Parent Updates. A July 19, 2023 article in The Greenfield Recorder is available here. If anyone was not able to see it at the time. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to my office or Jean Wall as the subcommittee Chair or the full Committee.
The district launched the new website on Monday, October 9. The address remains the same at www.gpsk12.org. As stated previously, we expect there to be some glitches despite our best efforts. Please contact my office if you find corrections that need to be made – thank you to everyone who worked so hard to create this new website
We have two dates for flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics. The current dates are Oct 20 at GMS and Nov 3 at GHS. Preregistration is required so please visit the Health and Wellness page of our website.
SAFETY AND SECURITY PROTOCOLS
Each year, we practice a variety of safety and security protocols. We have already had our required fall evacuation drills and our shelter-in-place and lockdown drills will also be scheduled throughout the year. These drills are conducted in collaboration with the Greenfield Police Department, the State Police, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
