Superintendent Update – Karin Patenaude and the School Committee entered into a contract effective July 1, 2024, for Karin to serve as the next superintendent in Greenfield.  Please join me in congratulating Karin on this next step in her career!!

As you may be aware, some significant snow is expected this weekend.  While the forecast suggests the snow will end Sunday afternoon, this is a good time to remind everyone where they can get weather-related information.

If the school schedule needs to be changed, I will send a School Messenger to all families who have opted in to get School Messenger.  If you have opted out, please reconsider as this is a primary way to share important information.  School delay or closure information will also be shared on Western Mass News, WWLP, and also 98.3 WHAI radio.

We are just beginning the process of building the FY25 school budget.  The budget will be presented to the public at a hearing currently expected to be February 28.  The Superintendent’s Budget and notice of the hearing will be posted in the Greenfield Recorder 21 days before the scheduled hearing. I will provide updates as we go through the process.

The district is planning a SEPAC meeting for January 24 at 5:00 pm. Additional information will be provided shortly.

Take care
