We are pleased to share that Stephen Sullivan will be joining the GPS as our new Assistant Superintendent, effective July 1.  Stephen is currently serving as the Superintendent of the Granby Public Schools.  He is looking forward to a position that is more directed involved with curriculum and instruction.  Stephen will take over when Karin Patenaude assumes the role of Superintendent upon my retirement on June 30.

Unfortunately, the SMILE Dental program for GPS has been canceled due to staffing issues.  If we hear any additional information, I will share that with families.

The City of Greenfield is working with FRCOG to develop a Municipal Digital Equity Plan.  The committee working on this plan is asking residents to complete this survey so they better understand barriers to internet access, affordability, and adoption. This survey should be completed by one person per household.

The School Committee voted to approve the 2024-2025 Academic Calendar.  It is available on the district website under the Calendar tab or here.

The School Committee voted to endorse the updated Wellness Program for the district.  This program outlines how the district will encourage healthy lifestyles for our students.  It is available on the Health and Wellness page of the website or here.  We encourage families to read the program and contact your child’s building administrator or nurse or Melissa Bednarski, nurse leader with any questions.

Take care,
