Dear Greenfield Public School Families,
As we welcome the month of October, I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received. September has been a very busy month. I have enjoyed the beginning of my journey in getting to know our students, families, and staff. The meet-and-greets and open houses at the schools were well attended, and the energy and positivity were in each and every building.
I have the pleasure of having lunch with students from each of the buildings to get their thoughts and ideas on their individual schools. We discussed what they love about their schools and what they hope for the future. It is so important to listen to our students and to understand their experiences and their concerns.
Our overall attendance rate for the month of September was 95.8%, which is wonderful. It is so important to be at school every day unless there is a medical concern or other unavoidable reason. Please make sure your school is aware of these absences.
Our District Instructional Leadership team just finished our first round of learning walks in each of the schools. These walks are designed to gather information on our curriculum and instruction and give us important data on how to support our teachers and staff in providing the best education for our students. We will continue to be in classrooms to offer support and guidance.
I look forward to a busy October with my first Parent Town Hall at Greenfield Middle School on October 8, 2026, at 5:00 in the library. This one-hour session is before open houses, so I hope to see many parents so I can understand your thoughts and concerns.
Thank you,
Superintendent Kruser

Staff Spotlight- Pupil Services
I would like to officially welcome our new Assistant Directors of Pupil Services. They will be instrumental in being hands-on in the buildings, supporting all of our students and ‘coaching’ our staff on best practices and pedagogy. They will collaborate with building administration and district administration to provide services to our students. Robyn Nelson will focus on Greenfield High School and Greenfield Middle School. She has 16 years of experience in education with a strong background in special education, student services, and school leadership. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education and was a special education teacher, a special education administrator, a vice principal, and a School Director. Throughout her career, Ms. Nelson has focused on creating inclusive, student-centered programs that support the academic, social, and emotional success of all learners. She is excited to bring her experience and passion for supporting students, families, and educators to Greenfield Public Schools.
Katherine Sasser will focus on our elementary schools and our pre-K school. She has many years of experience as an intensive needs special education teacher, a grade-level elementary special education teacher, a district-wide ETL, and an Early Childhood Coordinator. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Special Education. Ms. Sasser’s experience and knowledge of teaching strategies and special education will be instrumental in helping students, families, and staff receive the support they need.
CUSTODIAN APPRECIATION DAY IS OCTOBER 2ND
I want to thank all of our custodians and maintenance workers, along with Facilities Manager Tom Devine, for all of their hard work!
They all have done a great job getting our buildings ready. They work diligently every day for our staff and students. We appreciate you!
