If you have opted-in to text messages on your cell phone and are not receiving text messages, please call your child’s school and verify that your cell phone number has been entered into PowerSchool. Use the same cell phone number you used when opting in.
Weather Alerts
Weather alerts will appear on the Home page of the GPSK12 Website as a red ALERT when posted. Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, Greenfield Public Schools will use the following communication methods to provide up to date information regarding cancellations / delays / early dismissals:
SchoolMessenger
Every family registered with Greenfield Public Schools will receive an automated telephone call (via SchoolMessenger) with information regarding closings, delays, early dismissals, or other urgent weather and safety-related information.
Please make sure your phone number, cell phone number, and email address are up-to-date at your child’s school.
Local News Media (Television & Radio)
The school department updates Local Radio (WHAI 98.3 and 1240 AM and WHYN 560) and television stations (News 40, 22 News, Western Mass News, and NECN). They will be up to date with notifications about school delays and cancellations. Information can also be checked via their websites: https://wwlp.com, www.westernmassnews.com and www.necn.com

**** PLEASE NOTE: IN CASE OF A DELAY****
There is no Morning Pre-School at the Academy of Early Learning on days when there is a start-up delay in Greenfield Public Schools. When there is no preschool there will be no wrap care available.
1-HR DELAY: School will start 1 hour after the regularly scheduled start time. Students may be dropped off 1 hour after the regular drop-off time. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school. For bus routes, please add 1 hour to your regular pick-up time. Please note, inclement weather may cause slight delays in bus schedules.
2-HR DELAY: School will start 2 hours after the regularly scheduled start time. Students may be dropped off 2 hours after the regular drop-off time. School Lunch/Breakfast During Delays
On days that school is delayed, a grab-and-go breakfast will be served at all K-12 schools. On days that school is delayed, no breakfast will be served at the Academy of Early Learning. School lunch on these days will be subject to change.
