Per Massachusetts Student Record Regulations (603 CMR 23.06), Greenfield Public Schools (GPS) intends to destroy the Special Education records of students who graduated, transferred, or withdrew from GPS on or before June 30, 2017.

In accordance with state and federal laws, GPS preserves these records for seven years after the conclusion of Special Education services, at which point they are destroyed. These records may be useful to students or their parents/guardians for Social Security benefits or other purposes.

Records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless parents, guardians, or eligible students notify the school district otherwise. Records can be obtained by contacting the Pupil Services Office at 413-772-1327 or 413-772-1323 on or by August 20, 2024.
